The Africa RISING Program Learning Event 2019 took place on 5–8 February in Malawi. This year, and for the first time ever, the event combined a standard workshop format with field visit interactions between participants and farmers. This combination of formats gave ample opportunities for participants to link the data and information presented by colleagues at the meeting with the real-life scenario applications in the lives of farmers — the ultimate beneficiaries of the technologies.

As was anticipated by organizers, this mix of formats also served up interesting discussions and engagement on topics like systems research, how to measure sustainable intensification using the Sustainable Intensification Assessment Framework (SIAF) as well as the use of certain common terminologies – for example when is it right to say a farmer has ‘adopted’ a technology? ….and much more.

We understand, however, that sometimes, it is not possible to keep up with all items and discussions at events like these. But you don’t need to worry. We’ve got you covered. Below is a list of links to where we have archived the presentations, discussion and photos from the meeting for your reading and viewing pleasure – at your pace.

  • Meeting notes are captured on the event wiki page.
