AR_Ethiopia_report_mar2017.pdfA report of the first six months (1 October 2016–30 March 2017) of the second phase of the Africa RISING program activities in  Ethiopia is now available.
The report highlights the training of trainers (ToT) workshops organized in the southern region during this period and presents findings of a joint workshop organized by Africa RISING and the Livestock and Irrigation Value Chains for Ethiopian Smallholders (LIVES) and N2Africa projects in Ethiopia. The latter workshop brought together about 100 people in raising awareness and knowledge about the technologies and approaches that have been tested and validated by the three projects.
Other activities that were carried out by the program in the six months include:

  • consultation with potential partners for scaling out,
  • review and planning meeting with wider stakeholders,
  • a series of ToT workshops aimed at introducing and familiarizing development partners with the tested technologies and best practices, and equipping partners’ technical staff with the skills and knowledge for managing each technology, and
  • joint planning of the implementation process for Africa RISING Phase II.

The second phase of the program, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development will run from October 2016 to September 2021. It is focusing on strengthening partnerships for wider scaling-out of the already tested and validated technologies and innovations.
