In late April 2014, CIAT and ILRI organized a three day writeshop on value chain development in the Africa RISING sites in Ethiopia. The event aimed to:
1)     Share market value chain survey results
2)     Write up the value chain report for the Africa RISING project
3)     Discuss and document best bet value chain interventions for the project
4)     Develop protocols for the value chain and markets work for the project
Participants attended from CGIAR research teams (CIAT, ILRI, CIP) as well as from the regional research and local university partners from the 4 sites. Representatives of the newly established innovation platforms also participated in the workshop to validate some of the results and contribute to inclusion of value chains work in the platforms.
