Livestock feed resource assessments in Ghana and Mali
The Africa RISING project in West Africa recently produced reports documenting existing and potential feed resources, their uses and seasonal gaps with respect to livestock production in northern Ghana and southern Mali.
In both cases, qualitative and quantitative surveys were carried out using the Feed Assessment Tool (FEAST). Data was collected through Participatory Rural Appraisal in community focus group discussions and individual interview using structured questionnaires.
