Africa RISING in Ethiopia has started to work with partners and farmers to identify and work on model watersheds in three of its research sites: Lemo, Basona and Abraha Atsbaha, and Maichew.
In December 2014, training workshops and experience sharing visits were organized to create common understanding on how to establish a model watershed, share responsibilities and work together to implement R&D interventions. They also helped to familiarize participants on various crop, livestock, land/soil, water, tree and other technologies, practices and approaches that have been successfully practiced in other watersheds.
