Africa RISING partners with local governments to support integrated watershed management in Ethiopia
Africa RISING in Ethiopia has started to work with partners and farmers to identify and work on model watersheds in three of its research sites: Lemo, Basona and Abraha Atsbaha, and Maichew.
In December 2014, training workshops and experience sharing visits were organized to create common understanding on how to establish a model watershed, share responsibilities and work together to implement R&D interventions. They also helped to familiarize participants on various crop, livestock, land/soil, water, tree and other technologies, practices and approaches that have been successfully practiced in other watersheds.
