Feeding nine billion people in 2050 while at the same time conserving the environment – that’s the challenge facing global agriculture. Sustainable intensification is widely seen as an alternative to industrialised farming, which has been shown to have its limits. While sustainable intensification may not be a panacea, it offers a useful approach to improving food security in many ACP regions.
